Our Leadership Academy

Apply for ASPIRE’s 2015 Summer Leadership Academy for Undocumented API Youth!

ASPIRE is relaunching our leadership academy for summer 2015! The Academy was developed in 2010 to cultivate the leadership development of undocumented Asian and Pacific Islander (API) youth who are invested in creating positive change in the immigrant community and building the power of undocumented APIs.

About the Internship:

Interns will develop their leadership skills through six weeks of intensive training, community building, and project implementation. We will engage in dynamic methods to form connections between different community struggles and work to connect the API undocumented struggle to a broader movement. As impacted people, we hope that from learning from each other and our community, we can unleash our potential to be our own agents of change.

Program Components:

The internship is an intensive six-week part-time (15 to 20 hours per week) opportunity. The interns are expected to engage in community education, advocacy, outreach, and organizing around undocumented API issues in the local and state level. As well as working on a specific project over the summer pertaining to one of ASPIRE’s active campaigns.
